I enjoy the apple fritter recipe, it is so delicious and takes care of the sweet cravings. This is one of my easy go-to fall recipes. And, the flour does not need any kneading or a cake mixer. What kind of Apple to Use?
The short answer is to use whatever apples you have available. But, now if you have a variety of apples to choose from at the house. Or if you are looking for the best apples to choose from for this recipe, then keep on reading
The top two apples to use for the apple fritter recipe is Granny Smith which is the perfect go-to apple for apple fritters and any other recipe that calls for apple fillings as this stays firm while maintaining its taste. Granny Smith is known for its tart taste which is perfect for dessert recipes. As it adds a great fun flavor to the sweetness and reminds of everything fall
Now, if you are not a fan of the tart taste and would rather go for something sweeter than HoneyCrisp is your best friend. Honeycrisps are big and juicy and obviously sweet
And, regardless of what apples you use, cut your apples to about 1/4 of an inch cubes
If you are out of apples and have apple filling or canned apples available. Then, cut the apples into 1/4 cubes if the canned apples are bigger

Apple Fritter Recipe
Apple Fritter Recipe
Materials
- 1 Cup All Purpose Flour
- 3 TBSP Sugar
- 2 TSP Baking Powder
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
- 1/4 Tsp Cinnamon Powder
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 2 Medium Egg
- 1 & 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 & 1/2 TBSP Butter
Apple Prep
- 3 Medium Apples (Granny Smith, HoneyCrisp or Gala or reallyany kind that you like)
- 1 TBSP Butter (as needed) to saute
- 1/4 Tsp Cinnamon Powder
- 1/2 Tsp Sugar
Topping
- 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 TBSP Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1 TBSP Ground Cinnamon
- 1 TBSP Water (As Needed)
Instructions
- Wash and Dry Apples, Dice apples in medium sized cubes
- In a medium pan, heat butter, add diced apples to pan and saute until light brown. Remove from heat and let it cool
- In a large bowl, mix in dry ingrdients; all purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon powder
- In a medium BowlFa, mix all wet ingredients; milk, eggs, vanilla extract, butter
- Add all wet ingredients to dry ingredients and fold in gently until well combined
- Finally add in the apples and combine well
- In a medium pan, Add 1 quart of cooking oil and let it heat to 350 F on high heat
- Using an ice cream scoop, sccop batter and add to the oil, fry each side for about 2 minutes
- Remove once golden brown and place on paper towel to drain
My favorite go-to glaze recipe is a lemon glaze which is so easy to put together Click Here for the full recipe and is a great combination for apple fritters. But, if you are out of lemons or dislike glaze the surely another easy topping would be cinnamon and sugar. Just roll those fritters in some cinnamon and sugar powder and they will be ready to indulge.
