How to Pick BlueBerries ?
These tips are useful regardless of where you are shopping. Whether it is at your local grocery store or at the produce farm.
- Blueberries that are plump with a dark, deep blue color are ripe
- Blueberries that are firm or lightish blue with hints of purple/red are not fully ripe. And, will have a tart
- Whereas as green blueberries are not ripe and should be left alone
Luckily blueberries that are purple/red will continue to ripe, so if you want to store them for a couple days, it wouldn’t hurt to. Just make sure to separate any moldy and wrinkled blueberries before storing.

- 16 Oz Blueberries
- 1/4 Cup Sugar
- 1 TBSP Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
Instructions
- On medium heat, in a pan; add all 3 ingredients
- Keep mixing the ingredients and do not leave the pan unattented
- And let the sugar dissolve and start to caramelize
- Let the sauce thicken, you can smash the blueberries for a finer paste/sauce. Or leave them as in, depending on your preferenece
